Color
Piemonte Barbera DOC has an intense ruby red color, sometimes with purple reflections that reveal its freshness and vivacity. With aging, it tends to acquire garnet tones.
Bouquet
On the nose, it is characterized by a broad and engaging bouquet, in which notes of red fruits such as cherry, black cherry and plum dominate. Hints of sweet spices and light hints of wood often emerge, with accents of vanilla and black pepper.
Flavor
On the palate, Piemonte Barbera DOC stands out for a marked freshness due to its lively acidity, balanced by a full and rounded structure. It is a medium-bodied wine, with soft tannins and a pleasantly fruity aftertaste that recalls the sensations perceived by the nose, accompanied by a sapidity that gives balance and accentuates its versatility.
Serving temperature
Serve at a temperature of 16-18°C to enhance the structure and balance of the wine. It is advisable to use large glasses to best enhance the aromas and allow the wine to oxygenate.
Food pairings
Piemonte Barbera DOC is an extremely versatile wine, ideal for accompanying a wide range of Italian dishes. It pairs perfectly with first courses with meat sauces, lasagna, tagliatelle with ragù and risottos. Also excellent with white meats, roasts, medium-aged cheeses and cured meats. Its lively acidity also makes it a perfect companion for pizzas, focaccias and vegetable-based dishes, such as aubergine parmigiana and stuffed peppers.
