Piemonte Grignolino DOC has a light ruby red color, often transparent and with slight orange nuances, which tends to lighten with time.
Bouquet
The bouquet is delicate and distinctive, with fresh notes of small red fruits such as raspberry, wild strawberry and pomegranate, accompanied by floral scents of rose and violet. Spicy hints of white pepper often emerge and a light herbaceous nuance that makes the bouquet particularly intriguing.
Flavor
On the palate, Piemonte Grignolino DOC is dry and pleasantly tannic, with a light acidity that underlines its freshness. The body is medium-light, but the tannic structure is present and lively, giving the wine a unique personality. The finish is dry, with a persistent bitter note typical of Grignolino, which recalls the spicy and slightly peppery sensations perceived on the nose.
Serving temperature
Serve at a temperature between 14° and 16°C to appreciate its freshness and delicacy. The use of tulip glasses is recommended, to allow the wine to best express its aromatic characteristics.
Food pairings
Piemonte Grignolino DOC pairs well with light and not too structured dishes, which respect its delicacy and complexity. It is ideal with mixed appetizers of cured meats, meat salads, carpaccio and fresh cheeses. Also perfect with traditional Piedmontese dishes such as veal with tuna sauce, agnolotti al plin and light risottos, and with vegetarian dishes such as savory pies and stuffed vegetables.
